The All African Women Poetry Festival (AAWPF), convened by Tuniq Africa LBG in Accra, proposes a twelve-month festival-anchored residency and exchange programme for emerging African women poets, photographers, and visual artists from across Sub-Saharan Africa and the diaspora.
An open call reaches a wider pool; 15 to 20 selected participants move through a structured virtual residency phase of monthly workshops and peer critique sessions, narrowing to a curated cohort of 10 fellows who travel to Accra for an intensive in-person residency week, culminating in public performance and visual installation at the AAWP Festival in May 2027.
The central publication output is Tabono Anthology, Volume 2, a literary and visual arts anthology building on AAWPF's first Tabono Anthology (2023), produced with Krodua Publishing Agency and distributed across all EUNIC partner networks. Running in parallel, the V.O.W. (Voice on Words) Spoken Word Competition engages 256 young people aged 18 to 27 across 10 schools and 5 districts in Greater Accra, Eastern, and Volta Regions.
The programme is African-designed, African-owned, and African-directed: Tuniq Africa leads, EUNIC members co-create. It formalises what AAWPF has proven across four editions: 3,000 attendees, 40 poets from 10 countries, 22 residency alumni.
