ReWeave – Slow Fashion for Shared Futures is an international, collaborative and inclusive cultural project promoting slow fashion, sustainability, and social inclusion across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

By appealing to people of all ages and social backgrounds, the project brings together intercultural and intergenerational knowledge and ideas for a sustainable future. Through masterclasses, local workshops, community engagement and a finale “Slow Fashion Exhibition”, “ReWeave” draws attention to various challenges in today’s waste culture such as fast fashion independency or the loss of traditional crafts, with a special focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“ReWeave” is a cultural project that teaches recycling, upcycling and environmental responsibility across generations. By using fashion as its central theme, the project builds intercultural bridges through tailored workshops held in four different cities – Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla and Banja Luka. These workshops offer learning opportunities in areas of sustainable fabric use, garment repair and the (re-) learning of traditional crafts such as knitting, crocheting, and embroidery which combine traditional knowledge of craftmanship with new eco-friendly design methods. Students, Teachers, as well as anyone interested in design, fashion, or sustainability, are welcome to participate and gain important skills while expanding their environmental awareness.
Creating a space that offers the opportunity to share and acquire knowledge is particularly important in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where there is an increasing reliance on the fast fashion industry, leading to excessive textile waste and a decline in once-traditional textile skills.

“ReWeave” is a project of the EUNIC Cluster Bosnia and Herzegovina organized by the Goethe-Institut, the Austrian Cultural Form and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in cooperation with local partners like the No Nation Fashion and Sugar on Top.
